I’m intrigued to say the least. I assume it’ll be around GTI prices, but still undercut the big boys (Type R, RS, Golf R).

It’ll undercut them, but it also won’t compare. This is more ST/GTI/Si territory than Type-R/RS/G-R.

The N supposedly goes on sale in November, so we should see prices soon.

The Veloster Turbo R-Spec is almost $2k under a Civic Si

It does 6.2 seconds to 60 and has the same Michelin Pilot Sport 4S tires as the Subaru BRZ tS. Also manual only on the R-Spec. 

Veloster N will be a bargain and a monster if the base Turbo is anything to go by.

It’s short of the Type-R/RS/G-R, but my understanding from those who have driven it is it’s well beyond an ST/GTI/Si.

Yeah maybe, but I’m not convinced this will hang with a G-R or  an RS. It'll be cheaper than those cars because it has to be. It may provide some value over something like an ST, but nowhere near enough to close the gap between it and an RS.

I live fairly close to Hyundai’s corporate headquarters and actually spotted one on the street in front of the building this afternoon. Many crackles and pops were heard.

I’m also considering it, they seem to have incorporated a ton of cool stuff into the car. A true anti-lag system being chief among them.
